I was favoured with your letter of the 26th August a few days since and took immediate steps to endeavour to procure you a legal adviser for your Government, in consequence of the Attorney General of your Island being compelled to go home, as he was threatened with blindness. I regret to say that all endeavours have been unsuccessful. No one will give up his situation and business here unless there is a certainty of his being confirmed in the appointment.
